From where I once stood
at this sea of Galilee
remembering you
- my beloved -
I travelled the miles
to that one stone
the last rock in the sea
whispering to you
- my father -
a sea of words
of thought
of loving memory
slipping from my fingertips
into the fresh sweet
and the salty waters
where life sprang
where a quest began
where mine will end
one final day near Clifden
on that one last rock
I will stand overlooking
an Irish ocean
and I will softly smile
