[ To kill the gods ]

To kill the gods

to end a religion

to vouch for truth

Akhenaten

As Mo taught us

store basket stock

start early in life

Akhenaten

Am I just talking about the self

or on how far one can reach

Perhaps you can own mother earth

to live deeply rooted in longevity

Akhenaten

Yet the I goes beyond

as it fixes its stare

meditating on ecstasy

Akhenaten

And then to inhale truth

just to kill all religion

save that One

Demystified Fifty nine

Locked In His Heart

My Master

You taught me well,

my friend, my lover,

my sun, my Shams

Where were you as the doors closed on me

as I was buried under ashes of loss 'n grieve

when all around tried to sooth with platitudes

I stopped speaking out loud

your words flowed on paper

unlocking my heart's thorns

In a whirl entering my life and leaving my soul

o to be picked and to be savoured by the One

the kernel of the fruit will it flourish and honour

Will you weigh me

carry me upwards

as I silently bleed

My Lord

Poem triggered by a Rumi quote.

The Blue Aegean

Standing on that white grey quay

so silently awaiting the hydrofoil

the suitcases that group together

on the dew wet grey concrete slabs

the sea shimmering the same colour

as that early morning cloudless sky

the mansions across the bay off white

stone and orange-red tiles like a hat

still all is silent, sleepy even the birds

rest for dawn to come alive, energise

never before was there such a calm

such ease in their stance, stilled like

a photograph faded by the sun rays

soon to rise out of the blue Aegean

to leave melancholy never to return

as the wind that's not there carries

slowly the sounds of the hydrofoil

cutting through the dim daybreak

just out of focus of the Nikon lens
