Sundial
Instead of keeping me ignorant of time and light
they made me smart, and educated,
and with that these prowlers stole my innocence
*
Sundial
Shouldn't my naivety have been the yardstick
as the solar paradox's a means to return
to a lesser world, one ruled by nature's demands
*
Demystified Sixty five.
Note.
Ah, to live in a world ruled by Creation,
but no, you made me a slave to my whims
you make believe that I control my own destiny
that all can, no should, strive after wealth and fame
and now what to choose today, do we visit Disneyland
or Hollywood maybe Bollywood or perhaps trending Qatar
and kill that little voice at the back of the mind, a conscience,
that whispers to me of floods in Pakistan, the droughts in Africa,
of extincting Uighurs, of extincting species from insect to mammal,
and of new fused forces of evil, billions that will soon march, all over
but no, just too far away, not of my colour nor of my tribe, and besides
tonight's Netflix on and tomorrow my successful career, so kill the thought,
any, but that one that satisfies me, myself and I as was taught by this society.
